It's so cold here! I'm bathing 3 times per day just to stay warm! Other than that, I'm hanging out with my family, watching Season 3 of Nip/Tuck on DVD (Just finished the last episode!), meeting friends, doing some school work... Stuff like that.
Glögg is mulled wine and something us Swedes drink around Christmas time with saffron buns and gingerbread cookies. We drink it was with raisins and almonds in it. The more fruit and nuts the better, according to myself. BLOSSA is a brand of Glögg that makes these wonderful bottles above. I've never tastes these but the pretty bottles make me want to try them... they come up with a new flavour every year. This year is saffron, the golden bottle to the right. Sounds good to me!
I always forget about the GAP but have just looked at the website and there's quite a lot of cosy looking things. I'd like some new basics. I'll go check out the real shop on Friday.
So tired! We had to get up at 5.15 this morning to drive C's dad + girlfriend to the airport... lucky I've not got work today. Just housewife stuff - laundry and cooking...I seriously need to nap soon...
Cold rainy English day here... Got my tea cup filled up with Swedish tea, bought some vanilla scented candles today that I've lit to make the world a cosier place... tonight we're cooking peanut butter sauce and making more pumpkin jam! :) Note to the collage I made above: I love all things retro!
She's just gorgeous isn't she? I love her in breaking bad and in gilmore girls. Quirky and just stunning. Sorry for the lack of blogging. I've been working a lot and have just been home to see my family for a week. So busy busy... I'll try to be better.
My latest addiction is Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. So delicious AND refreshing. Yesterday we went to an American Diner (here in England) to get me some. I'd been craving it for over a week so it was about time. The supermarkets don't have any decent ones! This is me and my ice cream on the photo above. The other flavours are Toffee and Brownies & Cream. Topped with cream. Of course!
Haha do I want many nail polishes or what! I love all these colours - All shades of green: Mint, Soft, Dark, Khaki, Matte/ - Orange!/ - Dark red and bright red/ - Gold/ - Purple this and that. Light purple, dark purple, matte purple/ - And blue, dark and bright/
At the moment none of these shades are in my collection.
I never go without nail polish on my nails... you should see our fridge. More nail polish than anything else in there. They last longer if you keep them cold... Models own is a brand I haven't tried yet, but they look so nice don't they? Two negative things are that the bottles are massive and cost £5 each. Massive bottles mean it will probably dry and get lumpy before you get to use it all. Have you tried Models Own? Do they dry out?
I've noticed that one of my best nail polishes is by budget bran Miss Sporty. It was a gift so I never really noticed what brand it was. But next time I need a new colour (now!) I'll check them out in Boots. They dry quickly and evenly and one coat is enough. And only cost £1.99!
So pretty with the wood and all the other materials. I need to blog more but this week is really busy with work and not much play. More of everything, especially photos from my camera and my phone, next week I promise.
I've been back from our holiday for a few days now. We had an amazing time! Lots of fun, romance, sunshine, warmth, sunsets and way too much coffee and cake! You know I'm just kidding. There's no such things as TOO MUCH coffee and cake! Plenty more photos to come. We have nearly 500 of them.. oj!
Going on holiday tomorrow. Got some new books of course! I'm dying to read Dexter! Also got the next to Sookie Stackhouse books. Guilty pleasure. I always feel embarrassed reading vampire books but they're good for a light read. Just like you need on holiday. New shoes too. Just simple one for walking around on the beach etc. I can't wait for tomorrow!
I'm entering this competition for this lovely piece of art above. Johanna Jagendal is so talented! I hope I win. This picture would look awesome in my home office.
I just found these photos on my camera while I was getting another one. It's from the day we were supposed to go camping. We tried. We got there but then it started to rain really badly so we had some sandwhiches and then returned home and unpacked the car and food. We'd packed these biscuits I'd never had before. NICE they're called. And they were nice! SO nice. Coconutty and very addictive. I had the rest of the packet later that night after some wine... whoops.
Seriously, I think I'm the coldest girl in the whole world. I'm freezing like crazy and it's only september! How will I survive the winter!? What I do do to help is wear slippers and or loads of layers of socks. Layers everywhere really. 4 tops, 2-3 tights, trousers, big fleece robe, I drink loads of hot tea and have my hot water/gel bottles ready! They're great!
It's definately autumn now. Grey and cold and humid. I want to wear gloves and hats and scarves. I want to buy a million books and sit in bed under all the quilts and read them. Or on a beach. We'll be on a beach on holiday in less than 2 weeks! It will be absolutely wonderful, I'm sure. Just me and my man,
New romantic comedies out now or soon in cinemas that I'd like to see. What else is happening? I'm waiting for the mail man/mail woman to arrive but I'm pretty sure he or she wont... I want my new Adobe Dreamweaver book! I need to LEARN things... Still slightly ill so trying to drink some hot tea inbetween my cold coffees... spending time in bed reading with the window open so I can hear if the mail is approaching... Odd?
I bought a thermometer today and my temperature was 35.8 C... Whoops. Then I read this:
"Body temperature is still within the normal safe range down to 35.8 C.
Below that is hypothermia and a person gan go into shock and die if not treated."
I knew I was cold but didn't think it was that bad! :P
The view from our window. New Lemon Whip Lotion from The Bodyshop to the left, and angel sculpture that my best friend M gave me to the right. Oh and the hamburger phone at the front. All lovely things. I got Alice In Wonderland on dvd today. It's one of those films that I need to own, I'm looking forward to seeing it again. And the extra material!
Haha look what I won! 2 tins to keep Swedish Crisprolls in! Great! Being Swedish we always have these in. The Swedish word for them is "Skorpor". Now we have to massive tins for them. We only need one for that purpose so I've put laundry detergent in the other one. I love boxes and tins...
