Ok I've got a new favourite place for cake! Patisserie Valerie is absolutely gorgeous! The place, the food and the CAKES. Look at this fabulous coffee eclair that I had the other day! A week later I tried the grilled croissant (with cheese and tomato) and the tiramisu cake. All great!

This is one of the books I am reading at the moment. About sisterhood among other things. The cover says "See we love each other. We just don't happen to like each other very much". I think that's quite common. Does any girl have a sister relationship that is easy, like a friendship? Without ANY drama whatsoever? I can't imagine it. I have 3 sisters and it's soo much drama I haven't even invited them to my wedding. I wish our relationships were easier but you don't choose your siblings like you choose your friends so what can you do?
I hope that when I have kids I can raise them to get along and to support each other.

If you haven't watched the Channel4 program "The secret life of buildings", do it! We watched it last night and it was very interesting, especially if your interested in interior design and arcitecture. It's all about how the building we are in impact our lives. The first episode out of three was about homes. Size and light were big parts of the program. Today I'm trying to let more light into our house. It's difficult when it's quite grey and dark outside though! :)

It is beautiful when the sun is shining in through windows isn't it? I like sleeping with the sun shining in...

Lovely coffee/mocha coloured "Werewolf". They're only £1 at the moment so if you're in the UK, go and get some. They come in loads of colours and they are really good quality. Normally they're £1.75 which is a bargain too! Check out a review here that sums them up perfectly.The colour I got is very simular to Chanel Particuliere.

Last night I watched a biography documentary about the lovely Meryl Streep. She's so wonderful. Definately the best actress in the world accordning to me (and my mum!). Julianne Moore is second best and Morgan Freeman is best actor! :) Who are your favourites?

Love the look of this room. It looks very relaxing - I would definately sleep well in there. My teenage room back at my Mum's is painted matte black and it looks great. Two joining walls are black and the other two are matte white. The room is decorated in black and white and red - lots of shiny red. I love it! I wish I could move it to my house!

I’ve just finished Laura Jane Cassidy’s debut book Angel Kiss. I bought it a while ago but haven’t had much reading time until now and I really enjoyed this book. I follow Laura’s blog and her progress in her writing but being a few years older than the target audience I wasn’t sure if it would be as good for me as it was for them but I can reassure you that it was. I’m 23 years old and I found this book very interesting, funny and exciting – a page turner!

It’s a murder mystery story, but also a story about family, friends, relationships and being a teenage girl in a new town.

I’m very impressed with Laura Jane Cassidy. She is so young but so talented! She’s a better writer than a lot of bestselling authors out there. Give this a go! I think Laura has a very successful career as an author in front of her.

The new Carmex tube that I'm lusting for inspired this... Bright green and sunny yellow has always been a favourite colour combination of mine. So summery and happy. The book in the middle is "Pojken, Prinsessan och Grönt" - a book I read as a child. It's great. About a boy who hates the colour green... Very original story and very cute.

We have some great weekend plans! Mainly involving awesome food, but also seeing friends we haven't seen in ages and family. Should be good!

Milkshakes and books....

My milkshake that I had in town on Thursday. Bounty and whipped cream. It was delicious as usual. There'll be lots of milkshakes this weekend since one of my best friends and favourite milkshake companion is coming to visit me. Yeay! We're milkshake buddies.

The book is a book I started reading on Saturday and over the weekend I've read nearly 200 pages of it which is a lot for me. I normally get through books quite slowly due to the fact that I have about a dozen books on my night stand that I'm reading at the same time and due to the fact that I normally have too much to do to find time for reading at home. But every now and then, a book comes a long that is so easy to get drawn into and this is one of them. SO hopefully I'll find time to continue reading this week. :)

It's been a while. I've been on "holiday" to my country of origin to see family and friends and am now back home. Been back a couple of days and have unpacked and caught up on some school work. Still doing that actually!
Today I'll be going into town for a bit to do some shopping. I need to go to the health food shop, Waterstones and Paperchase, M&S, Boots, a card shop... loads... It's father's day on Sunday so I need to fix some things for my father-in-law-to-be...

I'm doing the impossible, again... I'm trying to break my caffeine addiction, again... I'm not going cold turkey this time though. Just cutting down. A LOT. Hoping that it will help me with some of my health issues. I know caffeine isn't all bad (it's good for avoiding alzheimers and dementia among other things) but I've just been having too much of it, as usual. We'll see how it goes...

Got the Starbucks newsletter earlier this week and found out that they are now selling small cakes including WHOOPIE PIES. I love whoopie pies. Just the name is adorable!
I tried the Red Velvet Whoopie Pie yesterday. This cake was delicious! Fresh and soft and sweet.
I did suffer from a migraine for about 5 hours after eating it but it might not be related. Or it could be. They do use a lot of colourings for red velvet things. It was worth it though.

I bought these babies yesterday.
The flavours ... scents I mean ... are HOT BUTTER FUDGE (the best!), GINGERBREAD LATTE, CHOCOLATE ORANGE and ANGEL CAKE.

When I'm staying at my mum's house I bathe twice a day at least. Especially now in the winter to warm up. These will be great for all my soaks!

If I could only choose three beauty products that I can't live without it would definately be HAND CREAM, LIP BALM and NAIL POLISH. I can't stand dry lips or hands and I've hated having polish free nails for as long as I can remember.
My favourite lip balms are:

Body Shop's Lip Butter. Grapefruit at the moment. My fiancé hates it though
Classio Carmex
Swedish classic Försvarets Hudsalva. Absolutely the best!

The best hand creams are:

Soap & Glory Endless Glove
Atrix - another Swedish classic! Great for working hands.

When it comes to nail polish I just buy whatever colour I like the best and am not too fussed about what brand it is.

Tävling hos Kalasgott.
Vi gjorde hemmagjord pasta. Ravioli med getost, färska tomater och färsk basilika, serverad med tomatsås, ost och mer färsk basilika.
Ett enkelt recept med mycket frihet att ändra på fyllning, såser och tillbehör.

Recept per person:
100g pasta mjöl
1 ägg
en nypa salt

Blanda ihop ingredienserna till en smidig deg och använd lasagne-funktionen i din pastamaskin för att skapa långa tunna bitar pasta som du kan skära till önskad storlek. Fyll med t.ex. getost-tomat-basilika. Gör små paket och knip ihop kanterna. Se till att få ut all luft! Koka i saltat vatten i ca 2 minuter.

Tomatsåsen gör du enkelt genom att steka en lök och ett par klyftor vitlök i lite olja. Krydda med italienska örter, peppar, lite chili och häll på krossade tomater, en buljongtärning och ett par matskedar tomatpuré. Koka upp och mixa till en slät sås. Låt gärna puttra en stund.

Servera pastan med rikliga mängder rived eller hyvlad ost, Parmesan passar bäst men andra ostar som t.ex. cheddar passar också utmärkt!

I just watched an episode of an old series of ANTM - the one with all the short girls that I've not seen before - and realized that Sundai from Top Model is very much an Olive Snook (Pushing Daisies) look alike! They just have different colours but very simular features and hair.
My own look alike is Cate Blanchett accordning to a lot of people. Last time I heard it was in a pub last week when some drunk man said loudly about me "She's like something out of Robin Hood!" I was a bit confused to what that was supposed to mean but then I found out that Cate Blanchett is the leading female in the newest version of Robin Hood...

Time flies by... I don't know what I've been doing. Not much I guess. I've been having time off with my man. First to go see my family and friends in Sweden and then over Christmas and New Year here at home.

Glögg is mulled wine and something us Swedes drink around Christmas time with saffron buns and gingerbread cookies. We drink it was with raisins and almonds in it. The more fruit and nuts the better, according to myself. BLOSSA is a brand of Glögg that makes these wonderful bottles above. I've never tastes these but the pretty bottles make me want to try them... they come up with a new flavour every year. This year is saffron, the golden bottle to the right. Sounds good to me!

Cold rainy English day here... Got my tea cup filled up with Swedish tea, bought some vanilla scented candles today that I've lit to make the world a cosier place... tonight we're cooking peanut butter sauce and making more pumpkin jam! :) Note to the collage I made above: I love all things retro!
